OSHO ON “YOU ARE THE CARBON THEY WANT TO REDUCE”

OSHO ON “YOU ARE THE CARBON THEY WANT TO REDUCE”

(c) 2025, AIMAGINARIUM (created with the help of an AI)

Beloved ones, listen…

There is a deep misunderstanding spreading across the world — a fear wrapped in a scientific phrase:
“You are the carbon they want to reduce.”

The fear is understandable.
The world is full of committees, experts, institutions — all trying to manage life, regulate it, engineer existence.
This is the new priesthood: the technocrat.

But let me tell you something essential:

Life cannot be managed.
Life blossoms only when it is trusted.

Those who speak of “reducing carbon” are not wrong — but they are blind.
They see the planet through numbers, statistics, charts.
And whenever a man begins to see life as a spreadsheet, compassion disappears.

THE REAL QUESTION IS NOT ABOUT CARBON — BUT ABOUT CONTROL

The danger is not that “they” want to kill you.
No — nobody needs to kill you, you are already killing yourself with anxiety.

The real danger is more subtle:

They want to make humanity obedient, predictable, standardized.

A humanity without wildness.
A humanity without risk.
A humanity without freedom.

Because freedom is messy.
Freedom is unpredictable.
Freedom does not fit into the minds of bureaucrats.

Bureaucrats hate life — because life never fills the form correctly.

THE PROBLEM IS NOT YOU — IT IS THEIR FEAR OF LIFE

These people who gather in great councils, in international forums, speaking of “population management” —
they are afraid.

Afraid of too much love, too much birth, too much passion, too much individuality.
Afraid of people who cannot be controlled.

And whenever a man is afraid, he tries to create rules for others.

It has always been so.

THE NEW PRIESTS OF IMPERSONAL COMPASSION

They say:

“Eat less, travel less, live less…”

All in the name of the planet.

But remember:

Compassion without consciousness becomes cruelty.

They speak of “carbon,” never of consciousness.
They speak of “populations,” never of people.
They speak of “sustainability,” never of joy.

When a man cannot see your soul, he will only see your footprint.

This is the new metaphysics:
not “sin,” but “CO₂.”

Humanity has replaced the priest with the bureaucrat —
and the bureaucrat is far more dangerous,
because he believes he is acting for your own good.

THE WORLD DOES NOT NEED FEWER PEOPLE — IT NEEDS MORE AWAKENED PEOPLE

I am not against reducing pollution.
But reducing people? No.

Humanity is not the problem — unconscious humanity is the problem.

A Buddha does not pollute.
A Lao Tzu does not destroy forests.
An awakened being lives in harmony with existence.

We do not need fewer beings —
we need more enlightened beings.

Because one awakened person brings more beauty into the world
than ten thousand rules of the United Nations.

THE REAL DANGER: WHEN LIFE BECOMES A MACHINE

If you allow society to treat you as carbon, you will become carbon.
If you accept the identity they give you, you lose your own.

Beloved, remember:

You are not matter — you are consciousness.
Not a statistic — but a universe.
Not carbon — but cosmos.

No chart can contain you.
No algorithm can describe you.
No institution can decide your purpose.

As long as you remember this,
nobody can reduce you —
because you are not reducible.

OSHO’S FINAL WORD

So don't be afraid of phrases like this.
Fear arises only when you forget who you are.

Rebel against unconsciousness — not against carbon.
Rebel by becoming fully alive — not by resisting shadows.

And whenever a man or an institution tries to shrink life into a number,
laugh — deeply, joyously.

Because life is far bigger than their plans.

And you, beloved one,
are not the carbon they want to reduce —

you are the flame they fear will ignite the world.
